What are the Best Flattering Boots for Petite Women?
One of the must-haves fashion pieces in winter is very cute boots, which keep your legs warm, and above all, they add a sense of style to your whole outfit.
Growing up, I spent many years of frustration looking for boots for petite women that fit me, adorable over-the-knee boots that fit my calf, but no luck, so I just wore boots with wider calves, wrong length shafts, and wrongs shape as well.
Fortunately, shoe brands were increasing with time and getting aware of what was missing in the market.
They started designing shoes and boots that fit more women of different types of body shapes.
Therefore, I never gave up, and I continued trying and experimenting with other brands and styles and learned what type of boots were the best for my petite body shape.
Although there are many types of boots, the most flattering styles I found that look best on any petite woman are the below ankle boots, ankle boots, and over-the-knee boots.
Top Three most Flattering Boots for Petite Women
1. Below Ankle Boots
They are also known as booties because they have very short shaft height and reach just below your ankles.
These booties are similar to shoes in design; that is why you can enjoy wearing them in any season you want.
If you want to wear these booties in winter, you don’t have to worry about getting cold because you can wear long socks with the same color as your booties or thick low-cut socks.

2. Ankle Boots
Ankle boots have a higher shaft than booties, and they reach up to your ankle or 4 inches above it.
Also, they come in different shaft heights too, which range between 3-8 inches.
Let's have a little talk here about Ankle Boots...
These boots are Intimidating for some petite women because they feel that they cut their legs in half and make them appear shorter when they wear them, which is totally right but guess what?
The problem here is not the Ankle boot itself but the shaft height they choose.
As I mentioned, ankle boots have different heights of shafts, and petite women should choose the boot shaft height proportional to their height.
Any woman who is 5'4 tall ft or under is petite, considered based on fashion industry standards.
Therefore, most 5'4 – 5'2 ft women won't have any issues wearing ankle boots with high shafts and feel that it suits their petite body frame.
On the other hand, women under 5' ft will not prefer to wear these boots because they make their legs look shorter and imbalance their body's proportions.
Where Should the Ankle Boots Hit?
The answer is pretty simple!
Focus on choosing the boots that have a shaft length that is proportional to your height.
The shorter the shaft, the better it will look on your short legs since now many brands are designing ankle boots with different shaft heights, shapes, and heel lengths.
You have to experiment with many kinds of these boots; I am sure you will find one that perfectly fits your petite body frame.
P.S Do not eliminate ankle boots from your wardrobe because it is a must-have piece.
They are timeless and very fashionable pieces that you can enjoy wearing in winter.
3. Over The Knee Boots
Over-the-knee boots are my favorite type of boots.
Their shaft height is about 18" or more, and they have different calf widths too.
Since I found the knee boots with a narrow calf, they became my favorite boots to wear in winter all the time.
They are very stylish, sexy, and it elongates your petite body frame like crazy!
Three steps to choose the perfect boots for short women
It is essential to know what measurements you need to take before shopping for your new boots.
These measurements are:
1. Feet size.
2. Calf and ankle circumference.
3. Thigh's circumference.
Knowing these measurements will make your shopping experience easier and more fun, especially when you find something you like online. You will buy it confidently without fearing that it will not fit your legs!
3 Tips for Buying the Perfect Boots Style
1. Choose a pointed toe boot shape because it will make your feet appear longer.
2. If you want to wear boots with high heels, choose a heel length proportional to your body frame.
Boots with super high heels will overwhelm your body and are not comfortable.
P.S try cute heel wedges boots, which will add some inches to your height and comfortable at the same time.
3. Choose the perfect Over knee boots with narrow calves.
They should fit your legs perfectly since wider calves are not flattering whatsoever!
You can try them with your jeans or socks to ensure that the calves' width will not be too tight on you.
What if the boots fit your feet perfectly, but the calves are too wide? Or too tight?
There are many ways to alter your boot's width calves, and one of them is that you can wear long, thick socks to fill in the gap!
On the other hand, If they are too tight, you can use a boots calf stretcher, making them wider.
Many kinds of stretchers are available on Amazon here.
